No doubt that there are many hill-stations in South India. Many of them are known for their surreal beauty and enchanting surroundings. But there are also some hill stations which are mind blowing, but much people aren’t aware of them. There is one hill station falls in this category. A name is Yercaud.

Little overview


Yercaud is a small, but mesmerizing hill station situated on the high altitude range of Shevaroy hills of Eastern Ghats above Salem, which is famous for its magical environment. Its placed at an altitude of 1500 metres from sea level. Surrounded hill area is also famous for citrus fruits like orange. It’s also rich in abundant production of coffee, spice plantation and other fruits like bananas, pears, jackfruit and strawberry.
The best thing about this hill station is- it’s not much crowded like Kodaikanal, Munnar and Ooty. Situated at such height, it serves as a placid medium for hearts through its appeasing presence or fogy appearance in general. Maybe that’s why it is also called as King of Eastern Ghats in general..


A road to destination


The way to this hill station starts from Salem town. Entire forest stretch is dense and roads are the most dangerous. When entering in the verdant veins of forest, you will find a pure magic of nature. Roads are formed in a hair-pin bend. Yes you heard right, as the situated steep at the peak, entire roads is in form of countless hair-pin bends like structure. This kind of unique road is itself a treat to our eyes and hearts. If you are going there at night, you would be blessed with a night view of Salem city like never before. During the journey, you won’t find any home or shop or people or anything, but still you will feel like a lot of being offered from Mother Nature. Entire Shevaroy hills are perfectly shaped there like being tuned with nature.
