Craziness should be an integral part of every traveller. If you are mundane one in all forms, nothing is going to be mattered as new experiences will always stay away from your presence. So I always want this world full of travellers with such bombs of craziness inside. This very thing brings them to people and places, which impact a lot to them afterwards.

About it
One of such places where my craziness brought me is Hogenakkal. Hogenakkal is a part of rural area, a small village turned into touristic spot due to its famous waterfall. It is situated on Kaveri river of Dharmapuri district of Tamilnadu state. From a long time, this place has been secluded but then exposed as people started getting know about it. Gradually it has been becoming popular.

The word Hogenakkal is formed of two Kannada words hoge and kal. Falling on the rocks it appears as if hoge (smoke) is emanating from the top of the kal (rock). It’s rooted by nothing, but because of the force of the water, hence Hogenakkal (smoking rocks). In local areas, it is also called as Marikottayam. This kind of Carbonatite rocks are considered to be the oldest of South Asia and one of the oldest and rarest of entire world. This is why Tamilnadu government is spending a money behind this project.

The village is tucked inside of main roads. Many people only take importance about the destination alone, but reality is the way leading to this destination is far way beautiful. Rural areas always being magic to our hearts as we could witness the real life being lived on natural ways. From struggle to ingenious ways, this is how we learn something from travelling while observing. The same way, you will witness a lot while going to this place. The road is in good condition as even state transport buses run on this route regularly. But again, you should be ready to enjoy the journey of roads as well.
